They display the words using similar technology.
One simple way to differentiate between the two is that the background of Amplus is rather yellow, and it does not use the CTB standard font (ITCJ) [Except 901, whose displays is smaller and can display standard font]. LV orange displays have a greyish black background, and can display ITCJ.

901 不也是用 Amplus 嗎？它的電牌可顯示 Johnston 字體。
