The E200 uses the same sort of Cummings engine as the Dart. the difference is in the body layout- i.e. the rear exit door is at the rear of the bus, and the bus is lowfloor throughout the vehicle [i.e. the engine is mounted at the back.
the problem is that Dennis Alexandre find it hard to replace the dart. the dart is the most successful bus to be produced in the UK since the 1950s, and it is hard for them to persuade customers to order anything else. also Dennis alex seem to suffer from decline- in built quality for certain- and they seem to gain less and less orders. the E300 is not a runaway success either.

The customers do order something else - many of them moved on to Optare Solos.
