Brian 兄, yes, I have been changed a new A610 from Canon for my A70 case.
In the November last year, I took my CCD problem A70 to Canon (Wanchai) for repairing, and the CS told me my A70 can be taken back in Jan to Feb. And CS asked me whether I need to borrow another DC (A520..not remember) for my use, I said NO, and I can wait until Jan to Feb.
Then in last month (beginning of January), I called Canon CS and check whether my A70 can be taken back or not, but CS said it can be only taken back after March / April or later, then CS asked me whether I change another new DC (A610, free e of charge) or not? Or change another model, IXUS50 (by adding HKD$1880) or 750 (by adding HKD$2680).
