yes!! last Friday, I took Cathay 256 from LHR back to HKG,
it had delayed for 30-40 minutes b4 arriving in HKG,
and it had delayed for depart (take off) in LHR as well...
and ALL the flights departing from LHR were ALL delayed~~
the most worst case is Speedbird 31 (BA031), delayed for 3 hours~!!! (till 1905 arr in HKG), unusual that, Speedbird 27 (BA027) arrives earlier than 31 wor...~~
and the other flights were all delayed...
i wonder why the screen displayed that, it was "逆風" rather than "順風"
The reason of refueling at AMS is because they need to carry additional fuel from HKG to keep the flight running to LHR and LHR-AMS then refuel at AMS for the rest of the flight...
It is impossible for them to refuel at PEK as even a B744 with full fuel capacity would not be possible to fly HKG-LHR and LHR-PEK... So its nesscessary to refuel in Europe and AMS happen to be in the flight path of their LHR-HKG route and also a airport which have CX operation...
I have heart in UK that BAA have been getting fuel from other airport like Southampton/BHX to try to minimise the effect...
