BigBus in London bought 12 S3BLs from KMB for use on London sightseeing tours.
Those are: SBL229,240,247,256,259,261,278,284,286,291,294,298.
The buses were converted to open top buses and repainted in BigBus colours.
what we are not sure of are the engines: if the buses are to run in London, the engine must be compatible with Euro2/3 emission standard.
Those buses are meant to enter service soon; photos when they do!
question:
does anybody know where to locate the chassis number of the bus [so we can identify it?]
Thanks for your news.
But there are some news from some discussion groups on the net
mentioning those KMB olyms are prepared for the expanding service
in Dubai next year by bigbus.
Any comment on this news?
I asked this question: we are told that the buses are meant for London operation; if they are for London, then the engines would have to be modified or changed to comply with the Euro2/3 emission standards, so we have to wait and see!
Would those ex- KMB S3BL to be re-engine before joined the BigBus fleet??
Thanks
Bill
Yoram has already said that if these olympians are to stay in London,
then they will have new engines. The problem is we don't know (yet)
where they are going to end up.
