So this batch of Olympus are traded under Darwen? or Optare?
The E400 [and the E500] refers to the body and not the whole bus.
You can certainly buy an E400 bodied bus on ADL/trident chasis, or as ADL refer to it: "E400 is available as a fully intergrated vehicle on an ADL chasis", but the E400 body is is available on volvo B9 and Scania chasis too.
ADL= Alexander Dennis Litmited in guliflord Surrey.
So, here in the UK, we say that E400 trident means E400 bodied bus on ADL chasis, and E400 volvo for B9 chasis.
Today in the UK, there are not so many body makers for ADL/trident chasis: apart from the E400, you have Darwen/Optare Olympus body- and that's the choice- 2 body options for the chasis]
for Volvo B9, there are E400, Olympus and Wright's body [similar to the AVBWs]. [3 body options for the chasis]
for scania you have E400, Olympus and the polish built omnicity d/d body. [4 boyd options for the chasis]
East lancs bodyworks went out of business, and bought by Darwen Group; and Darwen bought Optare and renamed the company to Optare! all within about one year! confusing...
