如果根據以前在無線及亞視看到的紀錄片中提及，首條路線是使用蒸氣火車行駛，所以第一條路線是以明挖方式興建，而且隧道及車站是很接近地面；而且為了方便排出廢氣，車站是有排氣孔，而隧道是會有多個露天的空間。

至於在之後興建的路線，因為當時的技術及資金問題，所以隧道的直徑是比現時的小；而且，隧道及車站設於較深的位置，其中一個原因是因為可以在戰爭時變成防空洞。

德國 munich?

My thought: Although London underground was built earlier than the Paris metro, London underground is better. (cleaner ,in an other word, more tidy). There are even drawings (塗鴉) inside the tunnels for the Paris metro, it's too messy and 殘舊.
