These buses will be transferred to LWB, which is the same group company under Transport International Holdings Limited (HKEX:0062), for expanding the number of airport service buses. Some of seats near to the stair will be replaced by the luggage racks and the covert work will be completed on Q3 2025.
Initially those buses were bought by LWB, but they couldn't put into service because of COVID pandemic that leads to hibernation of airport routes.
Meanwhile KMB would like to operate "First Class Service" routes (P960 and P968), so KMB took over the fleet and became V6P(X)s we know today.
Unfortunately, "First Class Service" routes are not successful, while airports routes revive once again after the pandemic has gone.
It's time to return the fleet to LWB, and resume what they are supposed to be when they first came into Hong Kong.

Thank you so much hellomato for the history of these B8Ls, much appreciated. I suppose KMB/LWB are not going to buy anymore diesel engine powered double deckers, what's next? All EV double deckers like Alexander Dennis Enviro500EVs perhaps?
