Route 486 is being converted from a mix of single & double deck buses to new E400 tridents.
17 E400 tridents were ordered from ADL for a requirement of 16 buses in service.
Here is E43, shown at the stand - North Greenwich.
E400: there are 11 for East London Limited [former Stagecoach]
Go Ahead group will have 57 E400.
Metroline have 42 E400 plus 15 E400 on order
travel London will have 27 E400.
Stagecoach group has about 150 E400 around the country with more to come.
Wright: most of the bodies built in the UK were used on volvo B7TL chasis [and very few on DAFs- about 150 - mostly in London]
Volvos were late in producing the Euro4 standard engine- the modified B9 chasis, and so far, no London operator -or around the country - ordered the B9 from London.
In London the 'winners' were scania: London United/transdev and Metroline- big customers of volvos - ordered Scania d/ds.
The largest order for Wright d/d bodies was First, and their UK order has just been delivered. In London, Go Ahead group ordered the most [270] followed by Arriva [200 on volvo B7TL + 120 on Daf], but no more.
