An ALX-Dennis Enviro 400 Demonstrator vehicle, registered SN56 AWW, has turned up at Lawrence Hill depot, Bristol. This demonstrator will be used for type training for about a week or so before being used in service on routes 40/41/43-45 for about 8 weeks or so, but now diverted to First Somerset & Avon's Weston super Mare depot for route X1 (Bristol- Weston super Mare)- 08.11.2006. The bus already has ticket equipment so will presumably now need to have its destination displays programmed.
Also First Group's first Enviro 400 for Plymouth P&R is alive and well and on display at the Coach and Bus Show at NEC Birmingham, I will take some pics for that bus and post it here as I am going to Euro Bus Expo this year.

Photo ...
its body had painted first Somerset & Avon's livery or still keep the demonstrator livery to working ?
the demonstrator livery, it is on loan to First but not permanently. The X1 currently has 3x B7TL / Eclipse Gemini (on '05' plates) plus a Volvo Olympian / NC Palatine 2 normally in service on it.
Seemingly not for long as the 2007 orders include a further 3x B7TL / Eclipse Geminis that will also be used on the X1.
These will make up the daytime PVR of 4 and will also leave a couple of spares for peak hour runs on Mondays to Fridays. The Geminis also turn up on the 353 on Sundays & Bank Holidays but wether we will see them on Monday - Saturday evenings once the new ones turn up is not yet known.
But the new arrival of the B7TL means some B10MD will step down from frontline service.
When the official order come out later this week, we will know what the 38 new buses are going to be... is it B9TL or E400?
