Starting from 1st Nov 2006 until 31st January 2007 (non-daily), from 1st February 2006 onwards (daily)
there will be a second direct flight from London <-> Hong Kong by Virgin Atlantic Airways
It operates on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from London
and on Sunday, Wednesday and Friday from Hong Kong (mid-night)
This flight will NOT go onwards to Australia after landed into Hong Kong.
Not surprise HKG-LHR getting 11Daily... Since the demand is really quite heavy with transit pax and also HK students study in UK...
But I believe they will be flying A346 soon instead since many of their A343 will be sold already... And many found a new home already...
I believe HKG-LON is the busiest long-haul route from HKG... Much more flights than any other route...
And if Oasis HK launch according to plan and BA rumour of 4th Daily, we could see 13Daily HKG-LON by 2007...
And if VS receive their A380 by 2008, we could see another increase of VS using A380 on VS200/201 LHR-HKG-SYD...
So already, confirmed increase on HKG-LON would bring nearly 1000 additional seats per day by 2008...

P.S.: I came to UK to study A-Level since 2004, there were only 6 daily flights (3 CX, 2 BA and 1 VS)
Now, It is going to increase uptil 11 soon~
1 BA (031,032) was added since end of 2004
VS prolonged to go to SYD in 2004 and willing to add 1 more (VS238/239) this Nov
1 QF started their service in 2005 (29, 30)
1 CX was added last DEC (256, 257)
and also 1 NZ was added service between AKL <-> LHR (via HKG) (38,39)
just 2 years, doubled the frequency than 2004's~
Waiting to see more frequency of flights to be added on later,
and looking forward to see A380 and the start of CX service to go to Manchester~
Will there be any more new flights for LHR<->HKG in the short future (i.e. on or before 2007)?

This will add up to 13Daily HKG-LON by 2007...
Comparing to only 6Daily 7years ago when I first study in UK, it has nearly doubled already...

Lets hope they will continue after 28/10/07... Since their demand on LHR-HKG is really heavy... And as most LHR-HKG pax took up the space of the flight, it made VS impossible to sell many LHR-SYD ticket...
Hopefully this new Daily flight would help VS to pull pressure off VS200/201 to allow them to fly more LHR-SYD... And make the loading on HKG-SYD better than they are currently doing...
And I believe this could be the biggest point of VS starting up 2Daily on LHR-HKG... And if it goes well, I believe it is very possible that we will still see VS238/239 after 28/10/07...

Well, that's really good to be honest
but, they didn't add any flight from 1999 until 2004???
When I came here to study,
it was 6 flights daily as well...~
When did CX add CX253 and CX 255 before?
Did you still remember the flights for BA are going to Manila after they have landed into Hong Kong?~~^^
