Not really gei, those blue bird has stabliers at the rear gei...I've ride on these buses in my middle school, high school year, and the ride is quite comfortable.
Also, these new buses (when new) cause about $600,000 US, cause of the special safety features, and the life of these buses are about 50 years....ususally if you see these buses being retired, that means that school district got a grant approved by either the federal gov. or approved by voters. (cause every time when my school district wants to buy new buses, they have to get approved one by one due to a provision approved by local voters in 1976 (around 8,000 residents)....that's why it took almost 45 years to replaced the whole fleet of 40 buese, the last original bus to retired for my old school district is a Crown build in 1961!!! @ last year)

Long rear overhang is nothing to do with comfort
What 3ASV3 worry about is, with such a long rear overhang, it will swing its tail, and damage to the vehicles or street furnitures near by.
Orr, haha, sorry for misunderanding lei, actually, most of these Blue Bird FE runs at wide and flat area (suburbs), cause around the city area, most of them uses the RE model or the Thomas built buses RE model. they have shorter rear overhang.
