yesterday, I photo'ed two wonderings of the E400 class from London Central/General.
Firstly, I show a photo of E15 on route 87. the 87 is a re-numbering of route 77A, and I show the bus at the Aldwych. compare this to a photo published here by 'Go Ahead' of an E on the 77A.
The first batch of Es [1 to 15] was allocated to Stockwell garage for route 196, and 2 extra ones [E38/9] would be allocated later this year for route 87. But the Es can - and do- appear on other routes operated by the garage: 11 88 133 170 333 345 670- and night buses.
The second photo shows the first ever recorded daytime wondering of an E - E26 - to route 363.
The second batch of Es [E16 to 37] were allocated to Peckham garage for route 37.
The buses can- and do- work on the other PM routes: 36[ from N36 duties] 37 363 and night buses.
